First Triennial Conference of the International Society for the Linguistics of English

                                      ISLE 1

                         Freiburg, 8-11 October 2008

ISLE, the International Society for the Linguistics of English, and the English Department of the University of Freiburg are pleased to announce the society's inaugural conference. Its aim is to explore the role that descriptions of English can play in the development of linguistic theories and to explore ways in which current theoretical approaches can be made fruitful for the description of English.

FRIAS Workshop (Sunday, October 12, 2008)

On Sunday, 12 October, regular linguistic activities in Freiburg will resume with a workshop on "Corpora and cognitive linguistics," organised by Martin Hilpert, Junior Fellow at FRIAS, Freiburg's Institute of Advanced Studies.
